General Office Supply was founded in 1931 by Gus Trahan and developed under his direction. General Office Supply began as a small business in Lafayette among several other small office supply companies.

With Mr. Trahan's passing the ownership moved to his daughter Marilyn Martin, who still has an active role on the board of directors. GOS is now in it's third generation of family operation as the grandchildren of Gus Trahan comprise the remainder of the board of directors. Commitment to product quality, extremely knowledgeable employees, and excellent customer service was the edge that the store needed to grow amongst the competition. It is these qualities that allow General Office Supply to grow and remain competitive today.

We have evolved into a full-service office systems,office furniture, business machines, and machine service provider. For more than seventy-five years, General Office Supply has served the Acadiana area with excellent values in office products, office furniture, office machines, and machine repair. Our service to our customers is unparalleled by anyone in our industry. GOS has two retail buildings, three warehouses, and nine delivery vehicles. We are known as being the largest and oldest independent office products dealer in the state of Louisiana.
